Pretzel perfection. Not greasy or buttery, just light, perfectly salty deliciousness. They've recently started offering many different flavored options, which look really good (garlic, sour cream and onion, etc), but I always find myself drawn to the classic sticks or regular pretzels. These are the best Lancaster county pretzels, and the dry mix (which they sell in the store) allows for easy homemade pretzels that taste just like the ones in the store.

The Dutch Country Soft Pretzels has been around for about 15 years. They have a bakery on the premise and offers pretzels, pretzel sticks, pretzel rolls, and pretzel wraps, as well as their own dipping mustards (Sweet Dipping Mustard, Hot 'N Sweet Dipping Mustard, and Horseradish Mustard with Honey). I tried their Cheddar pretzel, a regular salted pretzel, and a Pretzel Dog. The Cheddar pretzel had a copious amount of cheddar powder on top, and this was just okay. I was, however, a huge fan of their Pretzel Dog, as it had a nice twisting wrap of their soft pretzel around a delicious dog (that was of a perfect size and a great bread-to-dog ratio). YUM! There is also some samples by the cashier area (when I was there, they had small pretzel bites with the Hot 'N Sweet Dipping Mustard). If you want to bring some home with you, they also have pre-baked frozen pretzels for you transport back. The employee in there was very sweet and patient, and there's plenty of parking in their private lot. +Pretzel Dog +housemade dipping mustards

Pretty tasty soft pretzels in PA Dutch Country. Along route 322 in New Holland is a cool little business that sells nothing but soft pretzels, and soft pretzel mixes. For about a dollar a piece you can have a tasty fluffy pretzel. One thing I would like to point out is that these pretzels are a bit different than the hand rolled pretzels found in some roadside stands in Lancaster County. These pretzels are more of the classic type that you would find at your local fair or carnival... but a lot better. These pretzels are hand made daily and baked on the premises. You can even grab a bag out of the cooler to take back home with you. Overall a cool place to stop and sample a Pretzel or two.

Great pretzels. They sell bags of frozen pretzels so you can have them anytime!

They claim to bake "the best soft pretzels you can find anywhere," and I believe them. Soft, yeasty, lightly sweet -- these pretzels are perfect. And that's all there is to say, because that's all there is to this Mennonite-owned and operated business: the equipment used to bake the pretzels is out in the open behind a simple counter inside a nondescript, gray and white building, and that's it. I do recommend arriving in the morning or maybe calling ahead to ensure that there'll be warm pretzels waiting for you when you get there. If you do, you're likely to see the piping hot pretzels coming straight off an oven conveyor belt.
